Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is an American woman who is a businesswoman. She is the current president and controlling shareholder of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss, a Californian native has an extremely wealthy background. Her father Jerry Buss was a real-estate businessman who became owner of the Lakers and other businesses related to sports. Following the divorce of her parents in 1972 She began feeling as if she was abandoned. When she was 19 years old, she began working for the family business as the general manager for the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team. She then founded an organization called the Los Angeles Blades team of professional roller hockey. She was the president at the Great Western Forum, before being elected Vice President for the Lakers. Buss was the inheritor of her share of the Lakers by her dad in the year 2013. Her five siblings were the inheritors through a family trust. In 2013, she took over the presidency for Los Angeles Lakers. Los Angeles Lakers.
